Policies

Policies

The following provides you with some basic information about my practice policies. For a full explanation of these and other policies, please review the 'Patient Forms' page.
Scheduling
Clients are seen by appointment only. If you are a prospective client, please contact me by phone or email to schedule a free 20-minute phone consultation.

Fees
Clients pay at the time of service. I accept checks, cash, and credit cards for payment or you may choose to pay via one of the methods offered on my 'Pay Online' page. Please call for information on current session fees.

Cancellations
Because I have reserved time for you, I ask that you cancel or reschedule an appointment at least 48 hours before your scheduled appointment time. If you do not cancel your appointment 48 hours in advance or if you do not show for it, you will be responsible for the full payment.

Availability
Non-urgent phone calls are returned during normal workdays (Monday through Friday) generally within 24 hours. If you have an urgent need to speak with me, please indicate that fact in your voicemail message. In the event of a medical emergency or an emergency involving a threat to your safety or the safety of others, please call 911 to request emergency assistance.

Insurance
To offer you greater confidentiality and to devote more of my time to our therapeutic work, I choose not to participate "in-network" for any insurance company. Some clients are able to receive out-of-network reimbursement depending on their particular benefit plan. I encourage you to call so that I can help you determine your options.

Limits of Confidentiality
Information provided by you during therapy is legally confidential and private. I will not release information to anyone without your written consent except in certain rare circumstances. The primary exemptions to confidentiality include, but are not limited to, if I believe you are at immediate risk of harming yourself or someone else, or if I am sufficiently concerned that a child or vulnerable adult is being abused or neglected, I am required to take appropriate action as required by law and my professional ethics. For more information, please read the full Notice of Privacy Practices.
